The Team

Our mission at Crown Life is to operate in the growing market of Life Settlements and to offer an alternative asset class of investment where transparency, knowledge and experience are exemplified.

MANAGMENT
President & CEO

Lorraine Fusco

Ms. Fusco holds an Honors Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and has worked in the Life Insurance Industry since 2003 and holds several high level distinctions including being a member of the Million Dollar Round Table(2005, 2006 and 2008) Court of the Table (2005 and 2006) and Top of the Table (2006 and 2007) She was number 2 in Canada for Life Insurance Sales for Des Jardins Financial Security and she competently ran Fusco Financial from 2005-2011 a successful life insurance brokerage. She has been President and CEO of Crown Life since its inception and has successfully completed acquisitions of over 100M . She has underwritten more than 1B in potential acquisitions in 2016 with potential targets of 400M.

CFO

Roland Nimmo

CPA, CA – Roland was the Vice President of Internal Audit at Magna International where he supervised the financial procedures and internal controls of all global operations and played a pivotal role in Magna’s Corporate Governance System. Previously, he was a partner at Deloitte in its Financial Advisory and Canadian Real Estate practices.

Robert Stark

For more than 20 years, he has worked in finance, lending, structured assets and life insurance and has been directly involved in over $2.5 Billion of structured finance transactions. Robert holds his series 7 and 63 licenses as well as is a licensed Life Insurance Agent and Life Settlement Broker in numerous states. Robert earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland at College Park, and his Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Currently he us managing director of Melville Capital.

VP New Business Development

Walter Fusco

Walter brings over 20 years of financial management experience and expertise to Crown Life Canada Ltd. Ten of those twenty years were in the manufacturing sector. Walter directed all financial aspects of the business he was involved with including acquisitions, ventures and monitoring financial performance. As senior VP of Crown Alliance Capital, Walter brings his management experience to Crown Life Canada.

Matthew G. Wright

Matthew moved to Vancouver, Canada from the United Kingdom in 1995 and successfully reacquired his Canadian C A designation in 1997. Mr. Wright worked in public practice in both the UK and Canada until 2005 at which time he established his own accounting firm where he now provides accounting and consultancy services to over 100 personal tax clients and numerous companies both publically listed and private. Mr. Wright commenced assisting various TSX venture issuers with the preparation of quarterly and annual filings in 2005, and in November 2010 was appointed CFO of Galaxy Capital Corp, Carmax Mining Corp. and Ansell Capital Corp.

Moritz Roever

Moritz started his career at Bloomberg, New York, before he joined the investment banking departments of Citibank and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in Frankfurt. Between 2002 to 2005 Moritz was Managing Director at Germany based Scope Group, a leading European rating agency in structured finance where he oversaw the rating of more than 40 longevity-linked structures in the US, UK and Germany. Since 2005 he is Managing Partner at Puerta Grande Investment Management (PGIM), an investment firm specializing in the structuring, origination and sales of longevity linked products and services. He personally successfully transacted in access of $2bn in life assets and has been mandated as a consultant and re-structuring manager for various life settlement funds. From 2010 to 2012 he was Managing Director at The Seaport Group (New York/Munich), a global broker dealer, where he helped building their longevity and European high yield products trading desk. Further Moritz is co-founder of LifebondXchange (2012), Luxembourg, the first tertiary market trading platform for US Senior Life Settlements in Europe enabling institutional market participants to trade their exposure in a fully transparent and efficient manner.

Ajay Pahwa

Ajay Pahwa serves as Chief Actuary at AIG Insurance Company of Canada.

Brian T. Casey

Brian is a partner in the Atlanta office of Locke Lord LLP. As co-leader of Locke Lord’s Regulatory and Transactional Insurance Practice Group, and a member of the Firm’s Corporate, Capital Markets and Health Care Practice Groups, Brian focuses on corporate, merger and acquisition, corporate and structured finance and other transactional, and regulatory matters for corporate clients in the insurance, financial services and health care industries. One significant facet to Brian’s practice is a focus on insurance-linked securities and related insurance capital markets transactions. His clients include insurance companies, insurance holding companies, managing general agents and insurance agencies, third party and claims administrators, banks and other financial institutions, investment banks and reinsurance companies.

Leonard Goodman

Leonard has been associated with the life insurance industry for over 50 years. He is President and Co Founder of First Financial Group which has been providing a wide range of services such as wealth management, life insurance and tax planning. He has written a book called “Why are Canadian Seniors Worth More Dead than Alive?” He has founded a Life Settlement Association in Canada (LISAC) and has extensive knowledge on the industry. He is a member of the Governing Council at Sunnybrook Hospital Toronto , a member of the Board of Governors of Mount Sinai Hospital and served as a Director of the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation. He was a president of the Toronto Chapter of the Financial Advisors Associates of Canada (Advocis) and was appointed to an Ontario Government committee under then Finance Minister Lawrence Grossman, that was responsible for introducing a code of conduct and ethics and mandatory liability insurance for licensed life insurance agents and brokers.
